I got this because of iron deficiency and was looking for something gentle on my stomach. I take it daily — my levels improved a bit, though I know absorption depends on other factors too. I recently started seeing a functional medicine doctor to address some issues I've been having and the first they had me do was a full blood workup. When the results came back one of the most glaring issues was my blood iron (ferritin) level. Ideal levels for a woman my age should be 100-150+ ug/L. My level was 18!! The doctor asked me how I managed to get out of bed in the morning and how I can go up and down stairs without fainting, let alone live my life! It's amazing how you can get used to such a poor quality of life when it creeps up on you and you don't know any different. I immediately started taking iron at triple the recommended dose to make up for my severe deficiency and stop the 'iron leak' I seem to have in my body. After bouncing around between a few different supplements, I have settled on this one and I love it! I take 2 per day (that's what my doctor recommended even though the bottle says 1) and I no longer get dizzy and light headed, I don't bruise as easily as I used to and I just feel so much better over all! If you're deficient in iron, some of the symptoms you might experience are fatigue, dizziness, shortness of breath, difficulty concentrating, difficulty regulating body temperature or often feeling cold, pale skin, heart palpitations, shortness of breath, headaches, hair loss, restless leg syndrome, itchiness, more frequent bouts of illness and ringing, hissing or buzzing in your ears. My doctor says almost EVERYONE is deficient in iron, so this might be something you should take even if you're NOT experiencing these symptoms!One of the reasons I chose this particular brand is because it uses a chelate which is more highly absorbable by the body than cheaper carbonates, oxides, sulfates and phosphates and it doesn't have a bunch of crap additives in it. I bought this for my grandmother who is doing chemo and has anemia, she has also been having stomach issues along eith everything else. I am extremely happy with it, it doesnt cause her any digestive issues and her iron levels we up withing just a couple of weeks of taking this!! She is still low due to chemo but the iron levels are better and it stopped her from having to get an infusion!My aunt heard I got these for her so she ordered them for my great grandmother who is also anemic and the doctor prescribed her iron, she didnt want to give her the prescription because of the possible side effects so she went with these and her numbers have gone up as well and without digestive issues!!! I’m anemic and have had a very difficult time finding an iron supplement my stomach can handle. They have all made me sick, until this one. They are small capsules that are so easy to swallow! And the best part - no nausea, no GI problems of any kind. If you are looking for a good iron supplement, look no further.

As someone with anemia and IBS-C this is the only version of iron that works for me and my stomach issues.

My iron level in my blood work was low ,I did some research and liked what I read about in this product, it has worked great and my iron levels are very good.

This is a great product. It brought up my ferritin levels from 31 to 60 in 3 months. I am taking 4 capsules every other day (100 mg total) and split them up between AM and PM.I am using this strategy because I am also deficient in Zinc, which I am taking on the Opposite Day. So iron doesn’t compete with zinc for absorption.

This supplement genuinely works. My ferritin levels were sitting at a very low 12 back in April. After consistently taking Thorne, I redid my blood work on May 22, and my ferritin jumped up to 29. Seeing that numerical proof of improvement in just 1 month was a huge relief.

My blood work showed that my iron was low. My coworker recommended these pills.WhenI went back for a follow up after 30 days my iron was normal.

As someone who is chronically anemic, I've tried lots of iron supplements. Most cause stomach upset. This biglycinate version is proving to be a great option. I've been taking it every other day with some vitamin C on an empty stomach in the evening as that helps with absorption and reduces the chances of GI upset. I will update when I get my iron levels rechecked in 3 months.

The Thorne iron isn't giving me any of the so-called normal GI issues. However... I have been splitting each capsule into 3 portions. (But please do not do this if you're under medical care; you need to follow what you've individually been instructed to do.) With each 1/3 of the original Thorne capsule then going into an empty size 0 capsule, to take one of those daily. I realize it'll take much longer to bring my level up, but at least for now, I'm going to try doing it this way to see if I can avoid the bad side effect issues that I used to get in the past. My plan is to move up from 1/3 a capsule to 1/2 a capsule's worth, if all continues to go well. (In the past, I've had GI trouble with even iron bisglycinate, although reportedly this Thorne product is supposed to be one of the best choices for iron supplementation with the least amount of side effect issues.)

This supplement has helped me raise my iron and ferritin levels without any GI upset. Gentle enough for daily use and has made a huge difference with my hair growth and overall energy (my iron levels were very low). Would highly recommend!

I am 90 years old and all my life I have had high iron now my iron is 1.3 and I have taken this iron pill for five days and so far I have not got sick. I pray I get my old life back because I swim and garden and drive my kids crazy. HAHA believe me I am feeling a little better.

No stomach upset I'm not sure if it's raised my levels I wouldn't say that I noticed a big difference in my energy levels but I do know this some swelling in my ankles has gone down tremendously since taken don't know if the two go together hopefully they do
